KeraSoy Pillar 4120 is a specially formulated blend for making pillar and freestanding candles. This wax offers a number of advantages, including:
- Excellent color retention and easy release from molds.
- Provides excellent fragrance both when burning and in cold state.
- Requires a minimal amount of liquid dyes or chips.
- Can absorb up to 10% fragrance.
- Suitable for producing wax blocks for aroma lamps.
- Does not require additional additives.
- Presented in flakes, which facilitates use.
- Gives a smooth and creamy finish to the candles.
- Biodegradable, suitable for vegans, and not tested on animals.
Instructions for working with the wax:
- Adding color: Melt the wax to about 75Β°C when using dyes. It is recommended to stir well until the color dissolves. If not adding colors, the wax should be melted to 70Β°C.
- Preparing molds and pouring: Molds should be clean and free of contaminants, and preheating to 45-50Β°C is recommended. For better adhesion to the container, pour the wax at a temperature of 55-60Β°C. If you have difficulties with the pouring temperature, experiment by changing the temperature by 5-10Β°C.
- Adding fragrance: Add the fragrance oil immediately before pouring and stir well. Minimize the time the wax is at high temperatures to preserve the fragrance.
- Choosing a wick: Natural waxes require larger wicks compared to paraffin. An excessively large wick can cause soot formation, too fast burning, and wax leakage from the sides of the candle. A small wick can cause tunneling and a smaller flame. It is recommended to trim the wick to about 1 cm. Test different wicks to find the most suitable one.
Temperature parameters:
- Softening temperature: 57-63Β°C
- Melting temperature: 85-90Β°C
- Temperature for adding fragrance: 65Β°C
- Temperature for adding colorant: 75Β°C
- Pouring temperature: 55-65Β°C
- Fragrance saturation: 5-10%
After pouring, allow the candle to cool at room temperature. Test after a minimum of 48 hours.
